I’m a Boeing engineer based in Dubai, working hands-on with 737 systems every day. I’ve spent years learning how these aircraft actually work — not from textbooks, but from the real thing.
Desert Aviation & Sim is where I share that knowledge.
Why this site exists
The flight simulation world has incredible tools — PMDG, Fenix, DCS, MSFS, X-Plane. The technical depth available to simmers today is remarkable. But there’s a gap: understanding why the systems work the way they do, not just how to operate them.
That’s the gap I want to fill.
Here you’ll find:
- Real system explanations — bleed air, electrics, hydraulics, flight controls — explained by someone who works on them
- Objective guides — no brand-bashing, no hype. Just accurate information
- GCC-focused content — regional guides, hardware buying advice, and community resources for pilots, engineers, and simmers in the Gulf
What this site is not
I’m not a critic. I’m not here to tell you what your favourite simulator gets wrong. I’m here to explain how these aircraft actually work — from someone who works on them daily.
If that helps you become a better simmer, a better student, or a better pilot, great. If it helps a developer make their product more accurate, even better.
